This event will be held at Mascoutah # 19 421 W. Harnett St. Mascoutah, IL. Ever find yourself reflecting on your students’ lack of basic number sense and mathematical “know-how”? Ever wish your mathematics students would think deeply and collaborate more effectively? Participants will experience and reflect upon routines geared toward an elementary mathematics classroom that give meaning and purpose to a mathematical task, rather than a focus of just getting answers. This session is designed to educate participants with knowledge on various research based mathematical instructional routines that are effective and practical for engaging students in mathematical practices, content, and language. This session will also include worthwhile routines for building students’ number sense.
