Partners to Lead 2.0

Overview of Partners to Lead Project:

  • PTL2 is a 5-year, $8M grand-funded project that is housed at the DuPage ROE and includes ROE’s 1, 17, 21, 28, and 50.
  • PTL2 is a research-based, locally tested intervention that represents lessons learned from a previous $20M investment by the US Department of Education.
  • PTL2 benefits from numerous lessons learned during the early phase of development that involved nearly 150 schools located throughout Illinois.
  • PTL2 is a new and improved version of the original LEAD Project that will include 60+ schools located in more than 50 districts across the state.

Project’s Objective:

To provide professional learning and coaching to current principals with a focus on improving student learning outcomes in ELA and mathematics.  The professional learning, Cycles of Inquiry, is a research based program that supports a distributive leadership approach and the development of a collaborative and supportive partnership with an Instructional Leadership Team (ILT).  The principal and ILT will learn how to effectively and productively utilize data to drive school improvement efforts with a focus on student learning outcomes.

Principal and Instructional Improvement Team Supports:

Professional Learning:  Six, three hour Cycles of Inquiry Trainings, held virtually throughout the academic year.  Principals and partnering coaches will attend the trainings.

Coaching:  Each principal will be assigned a coach to support the learning and processes between the trainings.  The Coach will work directly with the principal and/or the School Improvement Team as determined by need.

Regional Networks:  The professional learning for ROE  50 partners with leaders from ROE #1 and ROE #17 creating networks of supports from leaders across the state.
