Objective: To assist in the daily operation and organization of the business office and to complete all payroll related activities for the District.
To make sure that all work and communications between the business office and stakeholders are completed professionally and in a timely manner.
Training & Qualifications:High school diploma or related work experience required
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
Knowledge of State and Federal Special Education Rules and Regulations regarding special education personnel, programs, and procedures preferred
Payroll experience preferred
Knowledge of Skyward payroll and database software preferred
Proficient ability to multi-task
Great attention to detail and precision with all tasks
Efficient, friendly, and accommodating demeanor
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to effectively work with the public and other employees
Willingness to assume additional duties during high user demand and as assigned
Effective at working under pressure

Supervised By: Director of Finance
Nature of Work: This position requires assisting the Director of Finance with the necessary functions to make the Business Office run smoothly. The processing of payroll is a paramount priority.
General Responsibilities:Process all payroll related transactions for the district
Process timesheets, payroll taxes, benefits/deduction requests, payroll vendor reconciliations, W-2s, 1099s, wage garnishments, etc.
Process various reports for federal, state, and local governmental agencies
Process and reconcile accounts payable transactions related to payroll
Maintain Special Education Grants expenditure reports and Special Education Personnel reports, and State Mandated Special Education data entry, reporting, and claims
Assist with general clerical services including, but not limited to, answering phones, filing, taking messages, scheduling and coordinating meetings, greeting and assisting parents, employees, students and visitors
Participate in work related support training and activities
Perform other duties as assigned by the District’s Financial Administrator and/or the administration
Perform other duties as assigned
