This session led by retired OTHS # 203 Principal Rich Bickel will focus on helping administrators, and other leaders, create an effective, productive, and positive framework for engaging in difficult conversations. Whether it be in person, on the phone, or through email, specific strategies and real-life examples will be shared to help increase confidence and lower stress while most effectively engaging with colleagues, parents, students, and others. These practical strategies have been proven to foster effective communication, promote a positive school climate, and best of all can be implemented immediately. St. Clair ROEUnpacking IAR & ISA Results to Inform Instructional Practices – A Hands-on Workshop
St. Clair ROEJoin ISBE for an interactive professional learning workshop designed to delve into the purpose and intended applications of the IAR and ISA. This professional learning opportunity is tailored to support district and school teams as they unpack their Spring 2024 ELA/L and mathematics (IAR) and science (ISA) results to inform current instructional activities and offer insights into the resources available to help support interpretation.
This is a hands-on workshop, crafted to help school leadership teams identify patterns and trends in student achievement, reflect on instructional practices, and translate those insights into actionable classroom activities. A suggested protocol for unpacking IAR and ISA results will be shared. Teams are encouraged to bring a fully charged device, the last two years of district- and/or school-level reports so that they can be supported through the unpacking process.
Those in attendance will get a sneak peak of the new enhancements for the Illinois Administration Platform for Spring 2025. In-depth training opportunities will be provided in January 2025 with Pearson Representatives also on site. LUNCH will be provided on site by Pearson!

There’s a better way to work! This workshop for daily Google Workspace users will help you develop a workflow to improve efficiency, cut down on the clutter, and help you get stuff done. We’ll practice strategies that help you prioritize tasks, organize files, manage emails, collect and analyze data, and run efficient meetings. Most of our focus will be on Google Workspace tools such as Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Keep, Tasks, and Chrome. This workshop will combine tech tips with strategic choices that will help you improve efficiency and work smarter. Participants should bring a laptop or Chromebook to the workshop to practice the skills as they learn.
