K-12 Paraprofessionals: Schools’ Hidden Gems (Virtual)

January 6, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Free
This virtual session is free for all thanks to the Illinois Masonic Foundation. In today’s schools, the paraprofessionals entrusted with empowering students in the bustling realm of general education hold a role of unparalleled significance, shaping futures with every interaction. Whether they provide individualized support for particular students or assist in various capacities within the classroom, their role is crucial in ensuring the effectiveness of inclusion for their students.  They are truly hidden gems within the school system.  This workshop equips paraprofessionals with effective instructional and behavioral management techniques tailored for diverse student populations, including those from low-income backgrounds and those with a history of trauma. Participants will leave with a broader understanding of their role as a paraprofessional, enhanced skills to collaborate with students and staff, and a toolbox full of strategies to help them support student learning. Registration closes 4-5 days before the event date, a virtual link will be sent prior to the event date.
