TITLE: Administrative Intern

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree (Admin Licensure Endorsement – GADM or PRIN)

Minimum of four (4) years as an educator

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Highly organized with extensive knowledge of the learning process

REPORTS TO/EVALUATED BY: Principal, Assistant Principal, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent

TERM OF POSITION: Contractual School Year – Start 2025-2026 School Year

SALARY: Applicable column and step on the school district’s salary schedule and a $3,000 stipend.

BENEFITS: The intern will receive all benefits available to the staff as determined by his/her current working agreement.

MEMORANDUM: One-Year Memorandum

JOB GOAL: The goal of the Administrative Intern is to assist the Principal and, where appropriate, the Assistant Principal and ensure the effective and efficient operation of the assigned school building in a manner that (1) is conducive to the academic, social, and emotional needs of the students; and (2) is pleasant and productive.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Administrative Intern will assist the Principal and, where appropriate, the Assistant Principal in the following:

1. Primary responsibility is in the improvement of instruction.  A majority of

the time will be spent on curriculum and staff development opportunities.

2. Implements district policies, procedures and regulations

3. Maintains records as dictated by State and Federal Laws

4. Promotes positive public relations and attends school functions

5. Supervises and manages the school building

6. Provides regular and timely communication with Principal, staff, parents,

students, and community members

7. Maintains a safe and healthy environment utilizing available resources

8. Promotes a high level of morale and positive working conditions with all

members of the learning community

9. Ensures overall discipline and supervision of students

10. Develops building, educational, and program goals

11. Resolves problems and complaints and communicates outcomes with

Superintendent

12. Reviews organizational structure and curriculum.

13. Attends meetings (local, state, national)

14. Counsels with staff, students, parents and community members

15. Maintains relevant inventories

16. Administers building budget/resources

17. Completes reports and any other clerical functions.

18. Works directly with PTA

19. Supervises implementation of testing and any necessary record keeping

20. Communicates with parents concerning student progress and his/her academic

programs

21. Creates opportunities for and supports staff development

22. Implements State and Federally mandated programs

23. Monitors and participates in staffings, program development, and annual reviews

of special education students

24. Develops and conducts surveys with staff, students, and parents

25. Responsible for enforcement of attendance of students within the school

boundary

26. Performs any other duties assigned by the Principal, Assistant Principal, Superintendent, or Assistant Superintendent

 

The staff member selected as Administrative Intern will maintain rights to the position (job classification, building

location, grade level, content area) they occupied upon entering the internship.
