Getting Started with AI – The K-12 Special Education Edition (Virtual)

April 8, 2025 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am

Free

Are you very new to the scope of AI and it’s wealth of information and resources?  This FREE virtual workshop is specifically designed for attendees who have little to no knowledge of AI and how its tools can be applied in the special education realm.  Join Emily Flach Regional Educational Technology Coordinator, Learning Technology Center, in this introductory workshop that is designed to empower special education teachers, new to AI, with the essential skills to address their unique classroom challenges and reduce workload. We’ll focus on building proficiency in AI tools and effective prompting. You’ll learn to immediately apply AI for tasks such as reading level adjustments, chunking, assessment and project modifications, and generating tailored outlines and notes. Discover how precise prompting ensures AI outputs directly support diverse learning styles and abilities, while also automating time-consuming tasks. Through hands-on practice, you’ll build foundational AI skills and the confidence to use AI to directly benefit your students and reclaim valuable time. A virtual link will be sent prior to the event date. Registration closes 4-5 days prior to the event unless tickets are sold out.
