This workshop is for 6-12 educators and administrators and is designed to address both evidence based best practices that apply to all learning as well as best practices that are specifically related to SOCIAL SCIENCE instruction. Participants will experience 3 distinct, but interrelated sessions in this workshop: HOUR 1- attendees will actively work through the essential components of DEVELOPING a guaranteed and viable curriculum for SOCIAL SCIENCE. HOUR 2 – attendees will actively work through the essential components of IMPLEMENTING a guaranteed and viable curriculum for SOCIAL SCIENCE. HOUR 3 – attendees will actively learn essential BEST PRACTICES REQUIRED SPECIFICALLY FOR RIGOROUS SOCIAL SCIENCE INSTRUCTION in which students drive and assess their own learning. By the end of this 3-hour workshop, participants will fully understand the connection between an evidence-based curriculum and best practice pedagogy in SOCIAL SCIENCE.
