Job Title: Supervisory Aide – Positive Behavioral Support

Reports To:  Building Principal
FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt
Work Days:  177 days. Anticipated work schedule 7:10 am-3:40 pm with a 30 minute lunch. 8.00 hours per day
Rate of Pay: Pay Range is $16.75-20.80 per hour (based on experience) and board paid IMRF.

JOB SUMMARY
Mascoutah High School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered individual to serve in the role of a  Positive Behavioral Support aide. This supervisory position is a critical component of the school’s efforts to provide equitable, supportive, and restorative behavioral interventions for students. The PBSA will focus on creating positive student relationships, supervising students in disciplinary settings, and supporting the development and implementation of Tier 3 MTSS behavioral supports for students demonstrating chronic behavioral concerns.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification/License: Paraprofessional or Substitute License.
  • Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying..
  • Experience working with adolescents in an educational, counseling, or behavioral support setting.
  • Knowledge of restorative practices, trauma-informed care, and MTSS frameworks.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and solution-focused in challenging student situations.
  • Cultural competency and a commitment to equity in student discipline practices.
  • Familiarity with school-based behavior management systems and documentation tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students who are receiving disciplinary consequences and their families.
  • Serve as a key contributor in the development and implementation of Tier 3 behavioral supports aligned to the school’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.
  • Collaborate with grade-level administrators and student support staff to implement restorative interventions, research-based strategies, and trauma-informed practices aimed at improving student behavior and school engagement.
  • Supervise students assigned to:
    • In-School Directed Study
    • Loss of Privilege
    • After-School Detention
    • Restorative Practices Opportunities
  • Support re-entry plans for students returning from suspension, expulsion, incarceration, or hospitalization—ensuring proper connections to academic and social-emotional supports.
  • Assist with data collection, progress monitoring, and documentation of student behavior and intervention outcomes as part of the MTSS and disciplinary tracking process.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to help implement and reinforce school-wide behavior expectations and restorative practices.
  • Serve as a visible and proactive presence within the school building, modeling and promoting respectful and responsible behavior.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of restorative discipline and school culture efforts.
