SUMMARY:Building Thinking Classrooms Book Study 
DESCRIPTION:Join Stacie Mayberry (Belleville # 118 Math Instructional Coach) in this four-session book study designed to support educators in exploring and implementing the key ideas from Building Thinking Classrooms. Each session focuses on one of the four toolkits outlined in the book\, providing participants with the opportunity to engage in discussion\, reflect on current practices\, and apply new strategies directly to their classrooms. Through collaborative activities and practical takeaways\, teachers will deepen their understanding of how to create learning environments that promote student thinking\, engagement\, and problem-solving. Participants will be required to attend all sessions\, participate in discussion\, and complete a brief reflection after each session.  \nSession 1 will be a 3 hour\, in-person session on July 28 from 9am-12pm at the District 118 PD building at 105 W A Street\, Belleville. Participants will need to read chapters 1-3\, and 12 prior to attending.  \nSession 2 will be a virtual 1 hour session on September 15th from 4:00pm-5:00pm. Participants will be required to read chapters 4-6 and 8-9.  \nSession 3 will be a virtual 1 hour session on October 6th from 4:00-5:00pm. Participants will be required to read chapters 7\,10 and 11.  \nSession 4 will be a virtual 1 hour session on October 27th from 4:00pm-5:00pm. Participants will be required to read chapters 13 and 14. Participants must attend all 4 sessions and complete the required reflections to earn the full 13 pd hours\, partial pd hours will not be issued.  \nThe book will need to be purchased separately (note the ROE will be raffling off copies of the book to participants). Registration will close July 20\, 2026 at 10:00am. \nVirtual links will be sent prior to September 15 and subsequent virtual dates.
