St. John the Baptist

St. John the Baptist Catholic School is a Pre-K 3 through 8th grade Catholic school located in Smithton, IL and is currently seeking a principal for the 2023-2024 school year. The mission of St. John the Baptist Catholic School is to educate the whole child by providing a stimulating, high quality Catholic education in a safe and caring learning environment. The position start date will be July 1, 2023.

Some responsibilities for the principal include:

*Being deeply committed to the development of his/her own faith to nurture the faith of the students, staff, and families
*Leading the staff and students curriculum implementation and professional development
*Overseeing an instructional plan that is consistent with the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school.
*Monitoring the financial operations of the school
*Managing the day to day school operations
*Communicating with parents and staff
*Reporting to the pastor the school’s activities
*Advocating for the safety, welfare, and care of the students while they are attending school
*Completing pastoral activities such as preparing liturgies, sacramental preparation, daily prayer, etc.

Applicant must be a faithful Catholic who understands, accepts, and promotes the teaching and disciplines of the Catholic Church and preferably holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration.
