Position Title: Instructional Coach (Literacy)
Work Year: Full time – Salary and work year to be established by ROE Policy
Education: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree and valid Professional Educator License
and must have three or more years of successful teaching experiences.
Special Skills: Experience in a leadership or coaching role and/or experience in curriculum
development is preferred.
Primary Function: This position is responsible for providing high-quality instructional
leadership and job-embedded professional learning for the ROE 50 Region. This also includes
supporting school improvement, curriculum planning, data analysis to drive decisions and
providing content-related leadership and instructional coaching expertise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Develop and provide professional learning for educators, instructional coaches, and
administrators in the content areas of math and literacy as supported with continuous
school improvement.
● Provide/assist in the development of professional learning delivered by instructional
coaches to teachers throughout the region.
● Develop professional learning sessions/training that support curriculum, standards,
instruction, and assessment.
● Collaborate with ROE PD staff and district professional learning staff to develop
professional learning that is tailored to specific school needs.
● Provide job-embedded professional learning through coaching support/modeling to
teachers and teacher teams as necessary.
● Understanding and awareness of multicultural needs.
● Excellent communication and oral and written communication skills and an
acceptable/courteous manner when interacting with educators, administrators and all
school and ROE stakeholders.
● Ability to maintain a positive and collaborative relationship/attitude across all schools
and ROE programs.
